Community Assessment and Intensive Support Service (CAISS)

CAISS team works with you if you have a learning disability, live in Sheffield and if your behaviour challenges your carer and/or the services you use.  Some of the people supported by CAISS also have a mental illness.
 
Referrals to CAISS are made through the Community Learning Disability Teams.
 
The team’s main roles are

  • intensive work with a small number of people
  • high quality assessments
  • developing effective interventions
 
CAISS works with services and teams to help them work more effectively with people who have challenging behaviour by providing

  • staff training
  • workshops
  • advice and support
