Before providing the health checks as part of the Directed Enhanced Service, Practices are expected to attend training provided by NHS Sheffield in partnership with the specialist health learning disabilities service.

This training covers the relevant areas to develop the skills and knowledge of the primary care health professionals, and support staff to enable them to provide good quality health checks for people with a learning disability.

Some of the associated training material is available for download at the bottom of this page.
