More and more people are being diagnosed with autism. People with complex autism need lots of good support so that they can be independent, be included, have choice and have rights, like it says in “Valuing People”.
This strategy has been developed to improve life opportunities for adults with autism in Sheffield. It says that it is important to have a range of services available to meet the needs of each person. This also means that people can make choices about their services.
We need support staff who are well trained so that this can happen. They need to know lots about the person they support so that they can do their job well.
This strategy links to other strategies and talks about how we will make these things happen.
