Sheffield City Council - White Buses
The white buses only run in the day and only take people to council services.
Buses for learning disabled people have a driver and a bus escort. They are trained in how to help people get on the bus, be safely secured when on the bus and to get to the day service or activity.
You can only travel on a white bus if you are attending a service that day services are providing.
During mid 2009, we are hoping to re-organise the white buses so that we can make the journeys as efficient as possible. We hope to give people a pick up and drop off time and we hope to make the amount of time people spend on the bus shorter
We will talk to people and their family carers and support workers to make sure any changes do not make travelling more difficult for people.
