Have A Good Day

Day time opportunities help people with a learning disability have a good day and a fulfilling life. They play a key role in helping people purposeful lives within their community and develop a range of friendships, activities and relationships.  They also provide reliable support to family carers, helping them to lead fulfilling lives in their own right.

This strategy sets out our priorities for learning disability services in all sectors to develop person centred, community-based day time opportunities that are meaningful and promote inclusion.

A key priority is to include all local people with a learning disability in our developments.  We aim to develop local community based services that help people with the most complex needs access community-based opportunities. We also aim to develop day time opportunities that meet the needs of people with a learning disability from black and minority ethnic communities.
