This is the Workforce Development Strategy for Sheffield’s Learning Disabilities Partnership Board. This is about everyone who works with people who have a learning disability. This includes people who work less often with people who have a learning disability, like bus drivers and leisure centre workers.
The strategy talks about how we plan to support and develop people who work in learning disabilities services in Sheffield. We want to do this so we can make sure that what is said in “Valuing People” is really happening.
We will look at the areas that staff need training in. We will also train staff who aren’t specialists, so that they can learn how they can support people with a learning disability and their carers better, to help them use services.
