Day services offer support to adults with learning disabilities. To get support from the day service you will need to have an assessment completed by a social worker.
The assessment will look at what your support needs are (and your family or carer’s where relevant). The assessment will be used to see if you are eligible for day services.
If you have an eligible need then your request for day services will go to the Disability Resource Allocation Panel (DRAP).
Once the request for day services has been agreed, contact will be made with the appropriate day service manager.
The day services provide a range of opportunities depending on your need and interests. The day service offers support from the teams in the North and South of the city.
There are a wide range of opportunities you can be supported in, and these include art, drama, music, jabadao, relaxation, horticulture, woodcraft, communication, advocacy, ‘Apni Awaaz’ (supporting people from the Pakistani community), walking, swimming, cookery, snoezelen, sports, indoor games and conservation.
